(Orange City)– Two people from Sibley are accused of stealing metal from railroad property and trying to sell it as scrap iron at a salvage yard.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 46-year-old David Case and 33-year-old Margaret Jakobson allegedly went onto property owned by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and stole tie plates and spikes.
Both were arrested late Tuesday afternoon on charges of second degree theft.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
