Cash Rent For Farmland In Iowa Reaches New Record High

(Ames)– Average cash rents in Iowa are now the highest on record. The annual cash rent survey from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach shows a nine-percent increase this year to bring the statewide average to $279 dollars per acre. The new record is 3.3 percent higher than the previous record set in 2013.

For the district that includes 12 counties in northwest Iowa, including Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, O’Brien, Osceola and Palo Alto, the average cash rent price is up 32 dollars to 302 dollars.
