Spirit Lake 7th & 8th Grade Marching Band Take Home Top Honors From Orange City Tulip Festival Parade

(Orange City)– The Spirit Lake 7^th and 8^th grade marching band participated in the 82^nd Annual Orange City Tulip Festival parade this past Friday. It was the band’s 36^th year of participation in the parade which draws 150,000 people annually.

This year the Spirit Lake Middle School band earned a 1^st place trophy and the People’s Choice Award.

There are 51 students in the band which is directed by Sally Jo Ites.

The 7^th and 8^th grade marching band will also perform in the Dickinson County Memorial Day celebration at the courthouse one week from today, May 29^th.
