(Spencer)– New, reduced speed limits will be going into effect in some areas of Spencer.
The city council Monday evening gave final approval to the new limits in the area of Iowa Great Lakes Lutheran School, on East 18th Street, as well for the area of 11th Avenue Southwest and Highway 71 on the city’s south side. City officials say the goal with the lower speed limits is to improve safety in those areas and hopefully reduce accidents.
