Portion Of Dickinson County Nature Center Being Named In Memory Of Former Naturalist

(Okoboji)– A portion of the Dickinson County Nature Center is being named in memory of Barbara Tagami, a former Dickinson County Naturalist who recently passed away. Dickinson County Supervisor Jeff Thee told fellow board members he learned of the announcement while attending a celebration of life for Tagami this past weekend…

“The board has decided to name the lower level of the nature center which is where young people get a lot of instruction and programs and so forth, it will be called Tagami Hall, which I thought was appropriate for someone with a love of life who touched thousands of young people going into schools and kids coming into the nature center during her time here.”

Tagami played a major role in the construction of the Dickinson County Nature Center years ago.
