(Spencer)– If you live in Spencer and your grass is taller than eight inches, you will likely get a visit soon from city officials.
The city says beginning May 15th, officials will be surveying properties for grass and weeds that exceed the eight inch rule. Properties that exceed the rule will be posted and the owners will be given seven days to mow. The city says any properties still not within compliance beyond that will be mowed by the city, with the cost being billed to the property owner.
Exemptions are available for haying. Applications can be made by calling 712-580-7200 Extension 225.
