(Arnolds Park)-There’s a new Concert Series on the way for the Summer Season. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association has announced a new concert series called Okoboji Rocks!.
Executive Director Clay Norris says, the Series will kick off May 27 with Jett Threatt – A Tribute to Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. “The lead singer is a lady named Karie Skogman, and Karie is a 2017 Inductee of our Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association Hall of Fame. She spent some years on the road in the Midwest in several bands, and now she’s put together some other pro musicians from Iowa. She’s out of Cedar Rapids, and they just are trying to be the best Joan Jett tribute band around and from what I’ve seen on videos and stuff, I have to agree.”
He adds that tickets are currently on sale. “Come into our Museum in person and you can get the tickets or you can go to our website to purchase the tickets online. General admission tickets are $25, and then, we have reserved seating, the first 3 rows for $30 while they last. You can reserve a booth for $200. Another thing that is good is our Rock the Roof passes that are also for sale, are $120 for 12 punches, so it’s $10 a punch. So, if you use your pass, you can end up getting a $10 discount by using a punch.”
