(Arnolds Park)– Motorists traveling on Highway 71 through the lakes corridor can expect further delays Tuesday (May 2nd).
The Iowa Department of Transportation says the contractor on the project, Cedar Valley Construction, plans to pave the northbound lane of the causeway between Arnolds Park and Okoboji beginning at 7:00 am. They say traffic on Highway 71 between Ackley Street in Arnolds Park and Lakeshore Drive in Okoboji will be restricted to one lane, with “flagger control”.
As has been the case all along with the project, access will still be maintained to businesses.
This particular phase of the Highway 71 reconstruction through the lakes corridor will end May 25th. Work on the next phase will begin immediately after this coming Labor Day, in September.
