(Spirit Lake)– An investigation into an incident Sunday evening at a Spirit Lake apartment complex resulted in the arrest of a man on multiple charges.
Spirit Lake police say they were called shortly after 10:00 pm to Hawthorn Apartments at 2013 32nd Street after getting a report of a man brandishing a handgun and threatening others in an apartment. Upon arriving officers were able to safely remove the occupants, but the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Brian De Jesus Alameda of Spirit Lake, remained inside. Officers began a dialogue with De Jesus Alameda. He eventually put the gun down and surrendered.
De Jesus Alameda was arrested and charged with going armed with intent, domestic abuse assault with intent to inflict serious injury, assault with intent to inflict serious injury, possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…1st offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office along with the Okoboji, Arnolds Park and Milford Police Departments.
