(Pocahontas)– The Prairie Lakes Area Education on Agency has a new Chief Administrator. The agency’s board of directors has selected Dr. Dan Mart to serve in the capacity. The board is expected to formally approve a contract for Mart at a meeting Monday.
Mart is currently an interim superintendent at the Keokuk Community School District. He previously was a PK-12 principal for the Terril and Graettinger districts where he also served as the shared superintendent. Mart was the superintendent at the North Polk Community School District prior to moving to the interim superintendent role at Keokuk. He has combined 25 years of leadership in education.
In his new role at Prairie Lakes AEA, Mart will oversee more than 235 full- and part-time staff members who provide special education and school improvement services along with technology and media support to 47 public and accredited nonpublic schools in 14 counties of northwest and north central Iowa. The agency serves about 32,000 students and 3,000 educators.
