(Sioux City)– District three of the Iowa Judicial Branch has a new Chief Juvenile Court Officer. Chief Judge Patrick Tott has appointed David Schmiedt to the position.
Schmiedt began his new duties March 31st. He has over 23 years in Juvenile Court Services.
The Chief Juvenile Court Officer collaborates with law enforcement to provide a coordinated response to juvenile crime and oversees programming and services for at-risk youth.
District three of the Iowa Judicial Branch is comprised of most of northwest Iowa, including Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Crawford, Dickinson, Emmet, Ida, Kossuth, Lyon, Monona, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Sioux and Woodbury counties.
