(Graettinger)– Upper Des Moines Opportunity has been awarded a nearly $1.5 million grant over three years through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
UDMO Housing Program Director Tanya Thelen says it will allow the agency to have a staff member that will be dedicated to housing programs at their outreach offices in Clay and Webster counties. Thelen says those two counties have the greatest demonstrated need in UDMO’s 12 county service area.
She adds that during the past six months UDMO has assisted 340 individuals from 141 households and distributed a little more than $348,000 in rental assistance payments.
