(Des Moines)– The Iowa Utilities Board is reminding those receiving energy assistance that the state’s annual winter home heating moratorium ends April 1st.
The I-U-B says those currently protected from service disconnection through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program should contact their local utility company immediately to discuss payment options and avoid disconnection that could begin as soon as April 3rd.
Consumers can still apply for LIHEAP through April 30th. You can do that, as well as inquire about additional resources, by contacting your local Upper Des Moines Opportunity office.
