Pet of the Week

Meet Princess!

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org***

Princess has not always had a life of gentleness or softness.  She came to us emaciated and having just delivered a litter of puppies.  Many of which didn’t survive due to her condition and the situation as a whole.  We want nothing more than for her previous life to only be a distant memory. Our wish is for all good things for her from here on out.  Soft beds, nutritious food, plenty of toys, no chaos and only love and gentle pets.  Princess is open to meeting new dogs and we think she would do well with a companion dog or as a solo pupper.  We have not had her around the cats but we could test her if that was needed.  She is very gentle and doesn’t jump so children would just mean more people to give her love!!!  We believe her to be about 5 years old.  We don’t know why she tilts her head but we have had several xrays done and nothing seems abnormal.  Its likely one of those things we may never understand and she can’t tell us.  Princess is about 45 pounds, spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped.  Her adoption fee is $275.00

Meet Tiegan!

Tiegan is tiny and quiet. She likes toys, cardboard boxes, scratchers, shelves, and places she can hide away for a nap. When she first came to the shelter, she spent most of her time hiding until a tiny orange and white kitten joined her room. Tiegan adopted him immediately and the two spent most of their time cuddling or playing.  Rx was picked up from the pharmacy after he jumped from the underside of the vehicle he hitchhiked in on. It was early April in northwest Iowa. He was young enough to still have his baby blues, but old enough to eat food, which makes him lucky to have survived as an out-of-season kitten. Friendly, playful, fearless, and affectionate, if you need company, this loving boy is just what the doctor ordered! His bonded companion Tiegan is more hesitant about humans, but really loves her adopted little brother. Tiegan is tiny and quiet. Unlike Rx, she is not a fan of being grabbed up and snuggled unexpectedly. Tiegan was born approximately October of 2024. She is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. As always, cat/kitten adoptions are free will donation to approved applicants. ****The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org****
