(Undated)– Expect to see additional law enforcement officers on the road for St. Patrick’s Day and this weekend. It’s part of a concentrated effort by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau to spread the message about the dangers of impaired driving.
The agency says that during the week of St. Patrick’s Day last year, 48 people were seriously injured or killed in car crashes on Iowa roads.
Nationally, St. Patrick’s is one of the deadliest times on the nation’s roads.
