Arnolds Park’s Iconic Wildcat Stadium Will See Even More Use In Upcoming Season

March 13, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Arnolds Park)– An iconic athletic field in Arnolds Park will see even more activity in the upcoming spring and summer months. John Adams, Sr., who also serves on the Arnolds Park city council, has been a proponent of a number of projects to renovate the field and its amenities. He reported at last week’s City Council meeting on a recent conversation he had with Okoboji School’s Activities Director Nick Mulder…

“Okoboji High School will be starting a new 7th and 8th grade baseball and softball team and program. They’re playing in the Siouxland Conference. It’s the first time they’ve done that. Mr. Mulder and I have been visiting about this, and they very much would like to use Wildcat Stadium as their home field for the year.”

The teams will be playing their home games at Wildcat Stadium from about mid-May through early July. That will be in addition to the little league games and a multitude of tournaments that will also be played on the field during the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, another round of improvements at Wildcat Stadium will get underway immediately following this upcoming Labor Day, which will include a renovation to a retaining wall incorporating some historic photos of Arnolds Park. Another project, construction of a story walk around the outside of the field, is scheduled for this spring.
