(Larchwood)– Midwest Honor Flight has received an $87,500 grant from the Lyon County Riverboat Foundation Wednesday. The grant will sponsor 84 World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans for an all-expenses-paid flight to visit the nation’s capital. The grant will sponsor the 14th Midwest Honor Flight for the organization, named “Lyon County Riverboat Foundation Mission 14: 16 MAY 2023.”
Veterans located throughout northwest Iowa, South Dakota, northeast Nebraska, and southwest Minnesota will be honored on this flight which will take place May 16.
Veterans on the flight will see the Arlington National Cemetery, the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
