Dickinson Co. Supervisors Want To Hear More From Township Officials Regarding Roadside Management Program

March 08, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson County’s vegetative roadside management program will be the topic of discussion at an upcoming meeting involving county supervisors and township trustees.

The Board of Supervisors Tuesday decided to hold the session after hearing concerns over the program recently during another meeting with township officials. Supervisor Kim Wermersen said he wants to hear more from township trustees before taking any action to address the issues…

“Communication’s really a vital key in these kinds of programs, so I think that would be a beneficial thing. And that meeting will really tell us, you know, in the meeting that we had there were a lot of folks that like taking care of their ditch. They want to leave it the same, they don’t want a new program. All I want to do is have a discussion so they know we’re listening to them and we can hear exactly what those complaints are and fix them if we can. You don’t always please everybody, we’ve learned that, but find out what those things are and see what we can do then to go forward.”

The meeting will be held April 18th beginning at about 10:30 am, or immediately following the regular supervisors meeting that morning.
