(Hospers)– A Sibley man escaped injury Sunday when a vehicle he was driving started on fire. The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 18-year-old Anthony Santana of Sibley was driving a 2008 Jeep Wrangler southbound on Highway 60 two miles south of Hospers when he noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment. Deputies say Santana pulled off to the side of the road where he was able to get out safely before the vehicle started on fire.
Both lanes of Highway 60 in that area were shut down briefly while firefighters from Hospers and Granville put out the fire.
