(Storm Lake)– Officials with Buena Vista University in Storm Lake have announced plans to build a new 185-bed, apartment-style complex. They say it will be the first in a series of upgrades on the campus.
The new four-story apartment building will offer three different fully furnished room styles, including studio options, individual temperature-controls, kitchenettes, private bedrooms and private bathrooms. The facility will include amenities such as open and private social lounges, study spaces, meeting rooms, laundry facilities, outdoor courtyard and a workout center.
Construction will begin this summer with the demolition of McCorkle Hall and Smith Hall, to make room for the new complex. It’s scheduled to open in the fall of 2025.
The last major residential renovation at BVU took place just over a decade ago.
