(Spirit Lake)– A Dickinson county jury has acquitted Steven Titterington on both counts of sexual abuse in the 3rd degree and sexual exploitation by a school employee.
During closing arguments this (Tues.) morning, prosecuting attorney Andrew Prosser told jurors there had to be a valid reason for the alleged victim to have pursued the case, knowing that she would be put through what he described as a “public crucifixion”…
Prosser also addressed the alleged victim’s inconsistent statements…
During his closing arguments, defense attorney Chris Sandy told jurors there was another reason as to why the alleged victim’s statements changed…

The jury reached its verdict of not guilty on both counts following about 40 minutes of deliberating this (Tues.) morning.
