(Sibley)– We’re learning additional details into a house fire Friday in Osceola county that led to a man being charged with arson. 32-year-old David Alvarez, Jr., was charged with 1st degree arson and criminal mischief in connection with the blaze at 533 5th Street in Ashton.
According to a criminal complaint, authorities spoke with Alvarez following the fire. The document says he allegedly admitted to starting the fire in a fireplace, then got a broom and started using it to set fires throughout the home.
Alvarez is being held in the Osceola County jail on a $35,000 bond.
