(Spencer)– A Spencer woman faces multiple charges following an incident on Wednesday of this week.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says it stems from a call for help at 2030 360th Street. A woman at that address stated another female was trying to get into her home after being told to leave. That person had already left when deputies arrived, but the resident of the home was able to give a positive description of the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Jessica Thornton of Spencer. Spencer police located Thornton a short time later at 9th and Grand, where she was taken into custody.
Thornton was charged with assault and trespassing. While at the jail, Thornton also allegedly assaulted a jailer. She was additionally charged with assault on a person of certain occupations with intent to inflict serious injury.
