(Dolliver)– A traffic accident Tuesday near Dolliver resulted in a road closure that lasted nearly five hours. The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says Andy Eckert of Alpha, Minnesota was driving a 2023 Peterbilt semi southbound in the 1300 block of 490th Avenue. Deputies say Eckert lost control of the rig after taking evasive action to avoid colliding with a northbound vehicle that was crossing over into the southbound lane. Authorities say the semi encountered a soft road shoulder and went into the west ditch where it overturned, spilling a load of distiller’s grains.
Eckert wasn’t hurt, but the semi, owned by RVT of Armstrong, sustained about $140,000 in damage.
Authorities say the other vehicle involved wasn’t located.
The incident took place a little after 3:00 pm.
