(Sibley)– The Sibley-Ocheyedan School Board has approved a three-part plan to make up instruction time lost to snow days so far this winter. Early dismissals on Wednesdays will be eliminated beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, February 15th. Five days will also be added onto the school year, with the last day of school for students at Sibley-Ocheyedan now set for May 25th; for teachers it will be May 26th. The policy states that the next four days that are missed will be forgiven, however starting with the fifth day, the days will be added to the end of the school year.
A statement from district officials says the board did not rule out adding time to the school day and will hold another hearing on that possibility, should it be needed, at a future board meeting.
