(Alton)– A Fairmont, Minnesota man was arrested following a single vehicle crash Sunday on Highway 60 near Alton.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Shawn Grapler was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado northbound when the vehicle went into the east ditch and struck a fence line and poles. Grapler sustained minor injuries and was checked over on the scene.
Upon investigating, deputies discovered Grapler was allegedly under the influence of a drug. A search of the vehicle turned up two firearms: one loaded and another that was unloaded. Grapler was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated…drugs; possession or carrying dangerous weapons while under the influence, possession of marijuana, possession of cannabidiol, and failure to maintain control.
