(Jackson, Mn.)– An ongoing investigation into the death last year of an employee at a Jackson convenience store has resulted in a Lakefield woman being charged with murder.
Jackson county authorities and first responders were called on January 7th, 2022 to a convenience store in Jackson where a worker was found behind the counter unresponsive and not breathing. Efforts to revive the woman were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.
Hospital staff alerted law enforcement after finding some pills on the victim that later turned out to be oxycodone.
As part of the investigation, officers discovered some text messages indicating the victim was looking to purchase the pills from the person who was later identified as the suspect in the death. That person was identified as 35-year-old Olivia Saddler. Saddler was charged with 3rd degree murder and is being held in the Jackson county jail on bond of up to $500,000.
