Collision South Of Milford Sends One Person To The Hospital

January 12, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Milford)– Minor injuries were reported in a collision Tuesday evening involving several vehicles at the intersection of Highway 71 and Dickinson County Road A43 south of Milford.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Lori Danner of Estherville was driving a 2015 Toyota Rav southbound on Highway 71 and was adjusting the radio. Deputies say when Danner looked up she noticed a vehicle in front of her turning west onto County Road A43. That vehicle, a 2011 Ford pickup, was being driven by 50-year-old Troy Visscher of Milford. Danner swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting Visscher’s vehicle, however Danner’s front passenger side struck the rear driver’s side of Visscher’s pickup. Danner’s vehicle then rolled, coming to rest on its wheels in the median of the intersection where it struck another vehicle that was stopped waiting to cross Highway 71 westbound. That vehicle was a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse driven by 53-year-old Donald Sonich of Hartley.

Danner sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to a hospital. No injuries were reported to either Visscher or Sonich.

Danner was cited for following too closely.
