(Estherville)– An Estherville man has been arrested for allegedly breaking terms of a protective order on multiple occasions. Estherville police say it stems from November 0f 2022 when the suspect, 38-year-old Joshua Claussen of Estherville, attempted to break into a residence. A protection order was issued by the court against Claussen. Claussen is accused of breaking that order November 30th, 2022. Claussen was arrested December 11th on three counts of violation of a protective order. He was released the next day on his own recognizance. On December 20th of last year police received another report of alleged violations of the order by Claussen, and two additional warrants were issued for his arrest. Prior to his arrest, police allege Claussen continued to violate the order. At that point multiple counts of violating the protective order were filed against Claussen, along with two counts of stalking. Claussen was arrested January 2nd in Jackson county, where he waived extradition and was transferred to Emmet county, where he’s being held in jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
