(Okoboji)-

The Dickinson County Nature Center hold their monthly Kenue Coffee Hour next week. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

The Dickinson County Nature Center will kick off the New Year with the Kenue Coffee Hour on January 5.

Community Relations Coordinator Jackie Jerge says, the program is free and open to the public. “The Kenue Coffee Hour is an adult-friendly program. We started it last year and we’re continuing on into 2023. It has been very successful. So, what we do there is we have a guest speaker that comes in every month, the first Thursday of the month, at 10:30 and they have a different topic. We do hold our Kenue Coffee Hour over at The Maser Monarch Lodge.”

She notes that the event will feature a talk on native plants and invasive species. “Tanner Bouchard, he is our Iowa Roadside Vegetation Manager, he is coming in to talk about native plant substitutes and invasive plant species, what to plant, what not to plant. So, if you are an avid gardener, check us out.”

The Kenue Coffee Hour will start at 10:30 Thursday morning, January 5, at The Maser Monarch Lodge.
