(Lake Park)– Some improvements could be in store for the shelter house at Trapper’s Bay State Park in Lake Park. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is accepting bids for the project now through 11:00 am January 19th, 2023.
The shelter house at Trapper’s Bay was constructed in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and has become dilapidated over the years.
The project would include replacement and refurbishing wood members, replacement of concrete, piers, roofing and stones, as well as some work around the chimney of the structure.
The project is tentatively scheduled for completion August 31st, 2023 according to bid documents.
