(Cherokee)– A regionally based agricultural company is reporting good financial results for the year. AgState, based out of Cherokee, posted sales of $1.5 billion and a net savings of $21.5 million. $7.5 million of the 2022 profits were allocated to the cooperative’s 4,500 members. The cash distributed to membership was $5.9 million including a revolvement of deferred patronage.
AgState CFO Bob Dobson says the company handled over 140 million bushels of grain. Of that, 30 million went to the company’s feed business. He says AgState’s Energy department provided 19.6 million gallons of refined fuels and propane.
AgState has 475 full- and part-time employees and operates 34 locations in northwest Iowa.
