(Spencer)– A regional housing agency has been awarded funding to support local housing initiatives. The Northwest Iowa Regional Housing Trust Fund is getting a little more than $498,000 through a program from the Iowa Finance Authority.
The funds will be used for things such as preserving aging housing stock, subsidizing local rental and down payment assistance programs, low-interest loans or grants to assist with home rehabilitation, construction of new single-family housing for low income residents, to support housing for persons with disabilities, and homeless assistance programs.
The Northwest Iowa Regional Housing Trust Fund serves Buena Vista, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto and Sioux counties.
