The Spirit Lake Chamber has launched their Shop Local-Motive campaign. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Spirit Lake Chamber of Commerce is encouraging local shopping during the holiday season with the Shop Local-Motive Campaign.
Director Regina Reed says, more than $2500 in prizes will be awarded in the promotion. “There are 40 businesses that signed up to participate. So, you go to their stores between now and December 12, and each week you gather groups of 4 receipts and turn them into the chamber by the following Monday at 9 am, and then your name goes into the drawing. So, we will give away 6-8 $50 gift cards each Monday. We will give away $200 in Chamber Bucks for the next 3 Mondays. At the end of the promotion, we will do a $200 Chamber Bucks for the Selfie Challenge. So, each one of the stores has a poster hanging up that says selfie challenge on it, and if you take a selfie and submit that to the Spirit Lake facebook page and instagram page, you’re automatically entered in, and then, at the end, we also have a grand prize drawing of $500.”
