Friends of the Auditorium to present The High 48s: Holiday Bluegrass at Memorial Auditorium in Worthington December 3

November 18, 2022 Becky Thoreson

(Worthington)-There’s a Holiday Bluegrass Concert coming up in Worthington. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

The Friends of the Auditorium will present The High 48s: Holiday Bluegrass December 3 at The Memorial Auditorium Performing Arts Center in Worthington.
Managing Director Tammy Makram says, the group will be returning due to popular demand. “This band is out of the Twin Cities. We had them perform on our stage last fall and they were part of a group called Caravan du Nord, a traveling group of Minnesota musicians, and they were here with 3 other bands that evening, and so many people approached me after the show and said, we couldn’t get enough of The High 48s, could you please bring them back just to do their own concert, and that’s what we’re doing.”
She adds that The High 48s play a blend of traditional and modern Bluegrass. “They really are the perfect blend of both. They still do the old style of standing around a single microphone, but then they mix a little more modern bluegrass in, as well. They’re not just great musicians, but they put on a fun visual show along with that.”
The concert will start at 7 o’clock December 3rd with a social hour prior to the show.
