November 14, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Paullina)– A Paullina woman escaped injury last week when the vehicle she was driving left the road and went into a creek.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 63-year-old Michelle Couldren was driving a 2006 Ford Expedition southbound in the 4100 mile of Polk Avenue when she swerved to miss a deer on the road. The vehicle left the road and went down an embankment where it became submerged in a creek.

An accident report says Couldren had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The crash took place around 4:00 pm this past Wednesday.
