(Des Moines)– Two northwest Iowa communities have been awarded Community Development Block Grants to assist in some wastewater projects. Fostoria is getting $230,000 for a project with a total cost of nearly $435,000 while Spencer will receive $600,000 for a project costing a little more than $1.2 million.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority recently announced the awards. They are among $3.3 million in grants going to nine communities throughout the state.
The Community Development Block Grant program is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
