(Royal)– Multiple injuries were reported Saturday in a fiery two-vehicle crash near Royal.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Lisa Shiley of Royal was driving a 2016 Mazda southbound on 170th Avenue and 21-year-old Cole Whiteside of Greenville was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer westbound on 420th Street. Deputies say Whiteside failed to stop at the intersection and collided with the vehicle driven by Shiley. Shiley’s vehicle traveled into a field and the one driven by Whiteside went into the ditch.
Whiteside and a passenger were able to get out of his vehicle before it became engulfed in fire. Shiley was extricated from her vehicle.
Shiley and a passenger, along with both occupants of Whiteside’s vehicle, were all taken to Spencer Hospital.
The collision took place shortly before 5:00 pm.
