Longtime H-LP School Board Member Announces He’s Stepping Down

October 20, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Lake Park)– A longtime member of the Harris-Lake Park School Board is stepping down. Board President Doug Stahly tells KUOO news he’ll be resigning from the board effective at the end of this year…

“Well basically Steve I was kind of looking at the future, basically. Harris-Lake Park has some pretty big construction projects on the horizon. I have one year, just one year left on my term and my kids have all graduated and kind of getting out of the game a little bit so that now I thought it would be a really good transition time for me to exit. Somebody who would get on the board now would have a really good chance to get up to speed on board processes, finance, all that fun stuff that goes with it, and really be a little more educated and have a better chance when our building projects come up and how it’s all going to go. I just thought now was a really good time to exit.”

Stahly represents district 1 on the board. He’s been on the board some 14 to 15 years.

Anyone living in Harris-Lake Park district 1 that’s interested in filling out Stahly’s term should contact the Superintendent’s office. The board intends to fill the seat by appointment.
