(Fostoria)– Clay County Pheasants Forever will hold their annual Youth Hunt Saturday, October 22nd. Spokesman Paul Daniels says it gets underway at 8:00 am that morning at the Prairie Flower near Fostoria…
“We spend quite a bit of time, have a local DNR officer out there to help us do a gun safety presentation, do all sorts of different stations of activity. We have trapshooting to get used to handling a gun if they haven’t already; we’ve got archery.”
Daniels says the event is free of charge…
“We have a presenting sponsor, Northwest Bank, and we appreciate them, that helps us. No registration is necessary, no fee for it. Basically you just show up that morning. We provide the guns so you don’t even have to bring a gun. In fact we prefer not just so we can control the guns and what we have on hand a little bit more. Wear blaze orange if you come out to it. Ages 15 and under can attend, so we have some pretty small kids and we only allow them to do what is safe or comfortable. We do have bee-bee gun range as well so there’s a bunch of little things they can do and partake in. So yeah, just show up, dress appropriately based on the weather, and it’s a pretty good morning.”
