(Okoboji)– The Okoboji City Council Tuesday evening heard an update from Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire Chief Chris Yungbluth. Yungbluth outlined plans to replace a truck in the department’s fleet of vehicles. He says it would involve the purchase of a dual purpose vehicle to replace an existing one…

The truck has a price tag of $335,280. Yungbluth proposed Okoboji and Arnolds Park each pay half. The Okoboji City Council Tuesday evening authorized Yungbluth to place the order. The Arnolds Park City Council will consider the matter at a meeting this (Wed.) evening.

Yungbluth also reported they plan to ask each city for additional funding for the upcoming fiscal year. He says they’re feeling the impact of rising costs just like everyone else…

Yungbluth added that does not include time spent on training. The council agreed to take the matter under advisement during upcoming budget talks.
