(Milford)– Some good news this (Thursday) morning when it comes to flooding along the Little Sioux River in western Dickinson county.
Dickinson County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Ehret tells KUOO news the Little Sioux at the gauging station west of Milford stood at 16.60 feet this (Thursday) morning…down slightly from 16.65 feet late Wednesday. Ehret says it’s an indication the river has crested and is starting to fall slowly.
Ehret adds there are no longer any signs of large ice chunks in the river, greatly reducing the threat of ice jams.
Forecasters say predictions for rain and snow Friday should have little or no impact on area rivers and lakes as amounts are expected to be very light.
