(Spencer)– A collision of two semis Wednesday blocked the east bypass of Spencer for awhile.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 61-year-old Bennie Plooster of Sioux City was driving a 1996 Box Trailer owned by Schuster Company and was pulling out from a stop sign at the intersection of county roads M-50 and B-24. Authorities say he collided with a southbound 2001 Mack truck owned by UPS and driven by 56-year-old Terry Mohni of Hartley.
No injuries were reported.
Plooster was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
10-thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the semi driven by Plooster; the UPS truck sustained an estimated 45-thousand dollars in damage.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Spencer Police Department, the Iowa State Patrol, Spencer Fire and Dickens Fire and Rescue.
The collision took place shortly before 4:00 p.m.
