(Estherville)– The discovery of a suspicious vehicle early last Friday by an Emmet county sheriff’s deputy landed a rural Estherville man in jail.
The deputy saw the vehicle enter the State Line Coop Facility in Maple Hill shortly after 4:00 a.m. with its lights off. Upon investigating the deputy discovered the vehicle had parked near a State Line Coop vehicle and that the driver, 26-year-old Jayson Wiley of rural Estherville, was still in the vehicle when the deputy approached.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up some empty gas cans and some black hose. A check on Wiley indicated his driver’s license was suspended and that he was wanted by Kossuth county on an outstanding warrant.
Wiley was arrested and charged with driving under suspension, no proof of insurance, operating with expired registration, trespassing, and on the Kossuth county warrant.
Wiley was booked into the Emmet county jail. Following an initial court appearance he was transferred by Kossuth county authorities to Algona.
