(Graettinger)– A Graettinger woman has been charged with child endangerment after one of her children tested positive for having methamphetamine in its system.
Authorities say the child was one of two tested as the result of a joint investigation in February of this year by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Department of Human Services into the alleged use of controlled substances in a residence at 203 North Maple Street in Graettinger.
Upon further investigation and based on the test results, charges were filed and an arrest warrant was issued Tuesday of this week for 26-year-old Haley Hansen of Graettinger charging her with one count of child endangerment…a class “D” felony; and two counts of child endangerment of a lesser degree…aggravated misdemeanors.
While in Graettinger on another investigation Thursday, a deputy observed Hansen walking in an alley and placed her under arrest.
She was transported to the Palo Alto county jail and is being held on bond of 9,750-dollars.
