Ice Officially Goes Out Of Iowa Great Lakes

(Arnolds Park)– It’s official: the Iowa Great Lakes are once again ice-free.

That word from Kirk Ewen of Arnolds Park who keeps track of the official freeze-thaw dates of the Iowa Great Lakes.

According to Ewen, the ice officially went out of East Lake Okoboji this past Thursday, April 1st, and West Lake Okoboji was ice-free Saturday, April 3rd.
