(Jackson)– A Jackson man has been arrested in the alleged assault of a man from Texas.
Jackson county authorities say they received a report early last Friday from a rural Jackson resident stating that a young man who had been assaulted had walked up to his residence in Des Moines Township. The victim was identified as 24-year-old Cory Don Valliant of Graham, Texas. Valliant, who’s working in the area, is currently residing at a Jackson motel.
Valliant told a Jackson county sheriff’s deputy he had been riding in a pickup when he was hit over the head with what’s believed to have been a tire iron. Valliant was treated for his injuries at the Jackson Medical Center.
Authorities say an investigation into the alleged incident led to the arrest of 18-year-old Suclah Sibou of Jackson…who’s being held at the Jackson County Law Enforcement Center.
Authorities say their investigation continues and additional arrests are likely.
