(Spirit Lake)– Faced with the possibility of a statewide ban on burning possibly coming in the next two years, environmental groups in Dickinson county are working to establish a composting program.
Steve Anderson of the Iowa Great Lakes Cleanwater Alliance says it’s vital residents have atleast one option for disposing of leaves whenever a burning ban should come down.
Anderson says they’re working with Waste Management, Incorporated, owner of the Dickinson County Landfill, to establish a compost facility at the site.
