(Spencer)– Special programs will be held the next two Sundays at a Spencer church to talk about Islam and how it differs from christianity.
Doctor Harry Rasdal of Spencer is helping coordinate the programs. The first one will be this Sunday, November 11th, at 2:00 p.m. He says the main purpose of that session is to have an open dialogue with the audience to explain Islam, its origin and current practices.
The other program will be held Sunday, November 18th, also at 2:00 p.m. It will feature a guest speaker…Doctor Riad Mahayni…a former resident of Saudi Arabia who’s now a professor and department chair at Iowa State University.
Both programs will be held at the Methodist Church in Spencer.
Rasdal says more and more people are wrongly associating Islam with terrorism and he hopes the program will make people stop and think. Just like christianity, Rasdal says Islam also has a few outlaws.
