(Primghar)– A Sheldon woman has been convicted on a forgery charge. The conviction was handed down in Woodbury county against 27-year-old Jeannie L. Korthals. Her probation for an earlier forgery conviction was revoked yesterday during a hearing before Judge Patrick Carr in O’Brien county. Korthals was ordered to serve no more than five years in jail.
In a separate case, Green announced yesterday that 23-year-old Rickey Joe Beldin of Ashton was sentenced in connection with an incident on November fourth of last year in Sheldon. Beldin was charged with eluding a police officer…a class “D” felony…and operating while intoxicated, second offense. Judge Carr fined Belden 2,930-dollars and ordered him to serve a jail term of no more than five years.
In addition, Belden’s probation for burglary in the third degree, a class “D” felony, was revoked. He had been on probation since March 23rd, 1998. Belden was sentenced to no more than five years in prison…to be served concurrently with the eluding sentence.
